Itinerary

It’s not a rushed itinerary—it’s a relaxed journey to slow down, connect with local culture, and indulge in the luxury of Altarfa Lodge. Over four days, you’ll wander, reflect, and truly feel the spirit of this remarkable place.

Day (1)

  • Arrival & Lunch: Settle into Al Tarfa Lodge in Dakhla Oasis and take a moment to breathe in the peaceful atmosphere.
  • Afternoon Unwind: Relax at your own pace—explore the lodge, enjoy the oasis views, or simply rest.
  • Dinner & Introduction: Come together for an evening meal and meet Wael Abed, Al Tarfa’s visionary desert explorer. Hear a few relaxed stories about his decades of wandering Egypt’s Western Desert—just enough to spark your sense of adventure.

Day (2)

  • El Qasr Tour: After breakfast, visit this historic Islamic city to soak up its old-world charm and explore local crafts.
  • Lunch & Leisure: Return to Al Tarfa for a restful lunch break.
  • Evening Hot Springs: Following dinner, enjoy a soothing dip in a natural hot spring—perfect for winding down.

Day (3)

  • Easy Start: Ease into the morning with a leisurely breakfast. Take a short stroll or relax in the lodge’s cozy corners.
  • Lunch & Desert Picnic: Recharge at lunchtime, then head out by 4x4 to catch the sunset over the dunes, complete with a simple, scenic picnic.
  • Farewell BBQ: Back at Al Tarfa, savor a barbecue dinner under the stars, sharing stories and laughter.

Day (4)

  • Final Breakfast: Greet the day with one last, calming breakfast at the lodge.
  • Departure: Bid farewell to Dakhla Oasis and travel back to Cairo, carrying home the relaxed spirit of the desert.

• Leaving Cairo on Thur. 23rd of Jan. 8:00 AM.
• Back to Cairo on Sun. 26th of Jan. 3:00PM.

Flights are operated by Petroleum Air Service from/to Cairo and Kharga Oasis (200 km from Al Tarfa). And we arrange the transportation to/from Al Tarfa Lodge at Dakhla Oasis by Mini Buses around 2 hours driving.

    • More than 28 days before the trip date, 10% of the total amount will be charged.
    • 28 to 14 days before the trip date, 50% of the total amount will be charged.
    • Less than 14 days before the trip date, there will be no refund available.
