Our stay in Aswan is set within a Nubian village on a quiet hillside overlooking the Nile and the protected islands of Salouga and Ghazal. Kato Dool is part of the journey, not just a place to sleep.

Inspired by traditional Nubian homes, the architecture carries warmth, color, and simplicity, reflecting the surrounding landscape—desert tones, palm greens, and soft blues from river to sky. Kato Dool, meaning “The Big Home” in the Nubian language, captures the welcoming atmosphere of the space.

Arrival & Transfer: Upon arrival at Aswan Airport, you’ll be transferred to the highest point of the Nubian village overlooking the Nile, where our Kato Dool Nubian house is located. Take time to settle in and enjoy the view.

Lunch, Sunset & Relax: Lunch is served overlooking the Nile, surrounded by the village’s colorful atmosphere. The afternoon is left open to slow down, relax, and watch the sunset over the river.

Evening Sounds of Nubia: As night falls, enjoy a quiet musical moment inspired by Nubian heritage—soft rhythms and melodies that ease you into the spirit of the place.

Dinner & Overnight: Late dinner and a calm overnight stay.

Philae & the Quiet Side of Nubia

Morning Over the Nile: Begin the day with sunrise views from the hilltop and infinity pool overlooking the Nile, followed by a relaxed breakfast.

Easy Transfer to Philae: A short, easy drive brings us to the Philae boat dock, where we board our boat to Agilkia Island and explore the Temple of Isis with a local guide.

Lunch & Rest by the Nile: Lunch is served by the river near the temple, with time to rest and enjoy the calm surroundings.

Golden Hour in Nubia: As the light softens, we sail around the temple toward Tengar Village, an old Nubian village near the High Dam. Enjoy sunset tea, gentle kayaking, and a relaxed Nubian gathering on the sandy beach.

Return & Dinner: Return to Kato Dool for dinner and a peaceful evening.

Abu Simbel & Lake Nasser Light

Morning & Departure: After breakfast, we head south from Aswan toward Abu Simbel, a journey that gradually shifts the landscape as we approach the Nubian borderlands near Sudan.

Ramses & the Lake: This is more than a temple visit. Explore the Great Temple of Ramses overlooking Lake Nasser with a local guide, allowing time to absorb the scale, setting, and silence of the place.

Lunch by the Water: Lunch is served at a Nubian restaurant overlooking Lake Nasser, followed by time to rest and take in the views.

Golden Hour on Lake Nasser: As the light softens, enjoy a gentle sailing experience on Lake Nasser, viewing the Great Temple from across the water.

Return & Dinner: Return to Kato Dool for dinner and a relaxed overnight stay.

Farewell Aswan

Morning & Departure: After a final, unhurried breakfast and a quiet farewell to this magical place, we transfer to Aswan Airport for the flight back to Cairo—carrying warm memories of Old Nubia and the Nile.
